Locals of Lisbon are very fond of the small Garden of Santa Catarina due to the panoramic views if offers to the city, in particular to the Tagus River and to the 25 de Abril Bridge. This is precisely why this garden is also known as the Belvedere of Santa Catarina (Miradouro de Santa Catarina).
One of the main attractions refers to the statue of Adamastor, a monstrous sea creature from the Luis de Camoes’s poem The Lusiads. Furthermore, the garden neighbors on the Museum of Pharmacy and on the route of the so-called Elevador da Bica, a national monument of Lisbon.
